FAQ

Where is your office located?

We have our own little, blue building with a welcoming red door. Look for the owl!

8 Roosevelt Avenue Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776

What are your hours?

Usually, our office staff is in from 9 am – 4 pm to answer your call or say hi if you decide to walk in and check us out. Our professional services are provided on an appointment-only basis that is flexible, depending on your needs.

Do you accept insurance?

For Counseling, we are Medicare providers, and all other insurance coverage for our services will vary depending on your insurance provider. We will call your plan to get your benefits, so you know what to expect before our first appointment. Some services are private pay.

How do I make an appointment?

We prefer a personal approach, so you can schedule an appointment by calling and speaking with our office staff directly. The usual hours are between 9 am –4 pm.

We want to make sure we are a good fit for each other and match you with the therapist that is best suited for your needs. We will set up a time to talk on the phone for about 15-20 minutes to get more information. You can ask any questions you might have.

If we are a good fit, we will then set up our first appointment.

We recognize that life is hectic, so we often have to do things at odd hours to get things done, so feel free to fill out the online form. Our office staff will respond to you as soon as possible and usually during typical business hours.

For those of you glued to your cell phones (which is most of us), if you need a reminder or confirmation about appointments, we text!

Please be aware that text is not truly confidential, and we never text personal information.

What is your cancellation policy?
We prefer a 24-hour notice for cancellations, but we know that stuff happens – and it isn’t usually scheduled! As long as you aren’t consistently canceling, we will work with you.
How long are sessions?

Supportive counseling sessions usually last between 45-50 minutes. It is possible to have a shorter session, although you will be surprised how time flies once we get started.

Life planning consultations are by the hour. We pack a lot of useful information into it, so bring a pen and paper!

Follow-up sessions are also available.

Neurofeedback sessions typically last between 45-60 minutes. Thankfully, there are no brain-eating zombies here!

What age ranges do you work with?

That depends on the service you need. Call us and let’s see if we can help you.

Do you work with women, men, couples?

We work with all types of humans. Some of us work with spirits, too.
