Resiliency
That is the word that comes to mind when I think of the senior population that I am so honored to be working with. It never ceases to amaze me that despite the odds stacked against them, my patients rise to the occasion.
The human body is surprising in so many ways, the way it can heal and move again in ways one never expects. My seniors are truly motivating and allow me to work as a team with them to impact their lives in a way they never dreamed.
We become like family
Through my own personal experience, I learned how difficult it could be if you had to go through life with a decline in your physical abilities. I learned how it can affect every aspect of your being.
As I was able to overcome and thrive in my own life, I am able to pass on this wisdom to others. When you work with me, I bring my educational background and clinical experience to the table.
But, more importantly, I bring my compassion and understanding. I am able to connect with you and your family to allow you to feel comfortable and build a relationship of trust very quickly, using my humor to help distract you from your worries.
What makes me a professional
I received my Master of Physical Therapy from Mercy College. I went on to work in several settings: Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Rehabilitation Centers, as well as Home Care settings. I began a company called RehabPro with my business partners providing Physical and Occupational Therapy at Assisted Living Facilities as well as Home Care all across Long Island.
Due to their compassion with the same population, Wisdom of the Aged and I created a program for Out-Patient Physical Therapy.
Since falls are a major cause of decline in this population, we established several programs that directly effect their balance and strength. We also provide Drivers Rehabilitation Assessment services for those who find themselves in a position of having difficulty while driving.
Give us fun facts about you…
On my time-off, I enjoy spending time with my family and my goldendoodle named Clayton. I also enjoy traveling and riding around in my Jeep.
