My passion is to be a supportive resource
People often say to me, “Isn’t it depressing working with seniors?” My response is always an emphatic No!! I find it to be the most rewarding thing I have ever done.
Seniors begin to get overlooked by society. Their needs often aren’t recognized.
The greatest reward in my career is the gratitude that my clients feel when I take the time to notice them and listen to their needs, wants, dreams, and regrets about life.
My other love is helping the families of this population. They are often very frustrated by having to cope with their aging parent in the confusing climate of healthcare today.
I’m a calm presence.
As a therapist, you will find my laid-back approach refreshing. We aren’t in any rush to hit you over the head and demand a breakthrough (although they will come on their own). We will have an open and honest conversation, just like a couple of old friends.
My education and work experience make me the clinician I am today.
I received my Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and continued to get my Masters of Social Work from Adelphi University. I am also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Give us fun facts about you…
Like most of you, I enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy puzzles and word games to keep my mind active when I am not working.
Reading is another favorite pastime of mine. I also work hard to exercise and stay in shape (I know.. .it shouldn’t have to so hard, but it is!).
